ESG: Increased Focus on Indigenous Rights in Canada: Why They Matter in Infrastructure and Energy Projects and Corporate Finance

The Women’s Infrastructure Network and Women in Energy Canada are pleased to be hosting a joint virtual event on Tuesday February 23, 2021, 2:00 PM EST/ 11:00 AM PST with Moody’s Investors Service.

ESG considerations such as climate change and specifically Indigenous rights in Canada increasingly affect existing infrastructure including energy related, shape new infrastructure needs, how projects can be built and how corporate activities in the infrastructure, energy and resource development sectors can be conducted. If such considerations are not correctly assessed and addressed, they can result in delayed or even cancelled projects, increased costs, loss of revenues, and reputational risk. All could potentially have credit consequences for the companies that develop the projects or conduct activities that have materially negative ESG consequences unless the risks are properly assessed upfront and managed proactively.

Our panel will include: Catherine Deluz, Senior Vice President, Project Finance & Infrastructure, Moody’s Investors Service Rebecca Adair, Vice President and Senior Analyst, Project Finance & Infrastructure, Moody’s Investors Service Paresh Chari, Vice President and Senior Analyst, Oil and Gas Sector and MIS Canada ESG Coordinator, Moody’s Investors Service Hillary Thatcher, Senior Director, Project Development Indigenous and Northern Infrastructure at Canada Infrastructure Bank/La Banque de l'infrastructure du Canada (Moderator)
