Marie-Elen Côté

Transportation Engineer
Stantec

Marie-Elen Côté, Eng., DESS, PMP, has just turned 30 but already has 9 years of experience as an engineer in charge of major projects in Stantec’s Transportation group. Since beginning her career in 2011, she has rigorously managed large-scale projects with fees running in the millions. Although she has less than 10 years of experience, Marie-Elen has been responsible for a larger number of sensitive, politically controversial infrastructure projects than most of her more experienced colleagues. For example, she played an active role in managing the feasibility study for the rail bypass at Lac-Mégantic after the 2013 disaster. She was also involved in plotting the new route for Highway 389 as part of the Plan Nord, the creation of major public transit systems in Quebec City and Lévis, and most recently the opportunity study for the creation of a third road link between Quebec City and Lévis, a multi-billion dollar project.

Marie-Elen is a dynamic person with strong leadership skills who also contributes to Stantec’s infrastructure business development strategy. She is committed to the development of the profession and is active in promoting the role of young women in engineering.
