Finalist: 2019 WIN Emerging Leader Award

Ms. Ashenhurst, MSc, RPBio, completed her thesis with an Industrial NSERC Scholarship working with industry, government and academia in the Mackenzie Valley of the NWT. Within three years of general consulting, she began her industrial environmental consulting career in heavy civil construction and additionally took over management of 25 staff of a consulting firm in 2008. In 2010, Ms. Ashenhurst joined Hatfield Consultants and evolved deeper into heavy civil construction becoming embedded within consecutive billion-dollar hydroelectric projects and managing environmental, contractual and environmental assessment requirements.

Being the first hydropower sector P3 in North America, Ms. Ashenhurst is presently the Environmental Manager of the John Hart Generating Station Replacement Project. Integrating environment into industry she has set the bar to a new high and has completely enraptured engineering and construction into environment. Ms. Ashenhurst remains dedicated to environmental education, innovation, adaptation, compliance, and communication within industry. She has won accolades from federal and provincial regulators, consecutive Environmental Management Association of BC awards (2017 Members’ Choice Award/Organizational Environmental Program finalist and 2018 Regulatory Challenge Award) and is part of the greater Project team to win the 2018 Outstanding Project Award from the Canadian Hydropower Association.
